Three students of the Opoku Ware Senior High School in the Ashanti region have been suspended indefinitely for allegedly being involved in homosexuality. The suspected gay students formed part of the team that represented the school in the recent Vodafone icon inter schools music challenge. The affected students were suspended after a disciplinary committee established they were homosexuals, after some students reportedly caught them red-handed and reported them to the authorities. But one of the suspended students in an interview with Kasapa FM’s Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako Justice said they are being wrongly punished. He claims that the allegations are untrue and questions why they are being punished f:or something they have not done, but ruled out the possibility of filing a suit against the school.
